State police have filed drug charges against two people who were taken into custody last Thursday at the Advanced Auto Parts store along Oakland Avenue in White Township.
Police were summoned for two suspicious individuals who seemed to be under the influence and were meandering around the store for an extended period of time. Troopers arrived and found 51-year-old Peggy Bender of Mayport, Clarion County, and 35-year-old Chad Hamilton of Homer City, both acting suspiciously. A search of their vehicle revealed drug paraphernalia, and when police arrested them, both Bender and Hamilton had narcotics and paraphernalia on them.
Bender was arraigned before District Judge Susanne Steffee on a felony charge of possession with intent to deliver, along with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and of drug paraphernalia. She was ordered held at the Indiana County Jail, with bond set at $50,000.
Hamilton was taken to the state police barracks and later released. He was charged yesterday with possession of a controlled substance and of drug paraphernalia.
