The Pittsburgh Pirates won their second spring training game in a row, beating Toronto, 13-8, on Sunday.
The Pirates smacked 15 hits. They scored seven runs in the first two innings, then added four more runs in the seventh on home runs by Gregory Polanco, Lolo Sanchez and Oneil Cruz. Pittsburgh scored a pair of insurance runs in the eighth inning.
Joe Musgrove started and pitched three innings for his first win of the spring. On the down side, Pirates pitchers gave up five home runs.
The Bucs did lose a pitcher when Clay Holmes was struck on the foot and suffered a fracture. He’ll be out four to six weeks.
Here’s a recap by Greg Brown.
