Clymer Borough Police have issued an arrest warrant for a Commodore man in a methamphetamine investigation that originated with a traffic stop last August.
Police stopped 48-year-old Noah Acosta near the 600 block of Franklin Street on the night of August 5th, and a search of his vehicle yielded three bags of a crystalline substance, a large bag of marijuana, $1,310 in cash, a cell phone, and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia.
All of the evidence was seized and crime lab results showed the crystalline substance was twenty grams of meth. That led to the arrest warrant, and police ask anyone who may know of Acosta’s whereabouts to contact them at 724-254-0714.
On his criminal docket sheet, Acosta is listed as being from Northern Cambria. The charges filed against him on Tuesday include felony possession with intent to deliver, misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia, along with a summary charge of running a red light.
Clymer Police also urge citizens to always report suspected drug activity to them or to the Indiana County Drug Task Force.
In a separate case, Clymer Borough Police have issued an arrest warrant for 19-year-old Ian Cordale Buterbaugh of Indiana, who is the suspect in a burglary on January 20th at a building on Willow Avenue.
Police say Buterbaugh broke into the building and stole several items, which he then offered for sale. They don’t say what the items were.
Buterbaugh is charged with five felony conspiracy offenses, for burglary, criminal trespass, theft, receiving stolen property, and criminal use of a communication facility. He also has an active case in the court system, for retail theft and traffic violations. Those charges were filed earlier in the month by state police.
Anyone who knows of Buterbaugh’s whereabouts is asked to call Clymer Police at 254-0714.
