State Representative Cris Dush has announced several fire and ambulance companies in his district have received state grant funding.
The funds come from the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and the Office of the State Fire Commissioner. In his statement, Dush said that 23 volunteer fire and ambulance companies would receive funds, including five in Indiana County. Those departments are:
- Cherry Tree Volunteer Fire Company, who received $11,509
- Commodore Fire Department, who received $12,057
- Marion Center Fire Department, who received $11,509
- Plumville District Volunteer fire department, who received $12,194
- Rossiter Fire Department, who received $11,646
The money for the grants came from slot machine gaming, and not general fund tax revenues. Projects eligible for funding include construction or renovation of facilities, purchase or repair of equipment, training or debt reduction.
