Charles W. Wallace, age 92 of Home, died Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at Crystal Waters Personal Care Home.
He was born in 1927 in Washington Twp., Indiana Co to James and Jennie Marshall Wallace.
Charles was a member of Presbyterian Church of Marion and a former member of Plumville Presbyterian Church, serving as an Elder at both Churches. He was an avid volunteer and enjoyed helping out with the church activities.
He was a self-employed farmer and raised Registered Angus Beef Cattle. He was also employed with McCreary Tire and Rubber Co with over 31 years of service.
Charles loved gardening and also enjoyed raising Christmas Trees. He also enjoyed volunteering (the program that delivers groceries, “ICCAP”).
He is a veteran of the US Army Medical Corp serving during WWII from 1946 to 1947 attaining the rank of Staff Sgt. He was the recipient of the Army of Occupation Medal and the Victory Medal.
Charles is survived by his daughter, Carol Allison and her husband Tim, Indiana ; son Calvin Wallace and his wife Penny, Home; His Five Grandchildren, Tamara Allison and Tienne, Trisha Cousins and husband Shawn, Jesse Wallace and wife Kaitlyn, Tiffany Yackuboskey and husband Dave, and Garrett Wallace; Four Great Grandchildren, Connor and Halle Cousins, Rhett Yackuboskey and Canaan Wallace; and Brother John Wallace, Vandergrift; a Stepson Brian Walker and wife Diana and their son Brandon.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his first wife of 50 years, Evelyn Stahl Wallace; his second wife of 13 years, Grace Walker Wallace; his two sisters LaRue Cribbs and Geneva Lemmon.
Charles family will receive friends on Saturday from 1 to 3 P.M. at the Presbyterian Church of Marion where his funeral service will begin at 3 P.M. with the Rev. Chris Enoch, officiating.
Interment and Committal services will follow in Washington Cemetery, with full military services accorded at the gravesite.
