State House Republicans yesterday held elections for their leadership positions.
While the 110 members of the incoming House Republican Caucus re-elected Mike Turzai as their nominee for the speaker of the house, the members also voted Bryan Cutler out of the Lancaster region as the new house majority leader, taking over for outgoing State House Majority Leader Dave Reed. Cutler, a lifelong resident of Lancaster, is completing his second term as majority whip.
In a statement on his Facebook page, Reed wished Cutler the best of luck and called him “an amazing person” and an even better family man. Reed had served as House Majority Leader for four years as part of his state house career, and Cutler had served as the majority whip under Reed.
