The Indiana County Commissioners this morning met and approved a request from Gibson-Thomas engineers for an extension of time on the Route 22 Pedestrian-Bike bridge project.
The deadline was extended by five months, from the end of this year to April 30th of 2019. The reason for the extension as explained in the request was due to unforeseen delays related to outside circumstances.
In other business, the commissioners approved a sealed bid auction for twelve vehicles that the county no longer needs. The vehicles will be on display at the airport until the day the sealed bids are due, which will be December 14th at 10:30. Bids will then be opened and recorded at that time. Bids can be submitted at the airport or at the Commissioners office. The list of vehicles includes several pickup trucks and SUVs and two vans, along with a Box Truck.
Also, the commissioners offered a proclamation, joining a group of eight churches and Indiana Borough Council condemning the shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue, and offering support to those who need it. A copy of that proclamation will be sent to the synagogue in Squirrel Hill.
