A former physican with Indiana Regional Medical Center who made a large impact in the area’s medical scene has passed away.
Details are still coming in on the death of Dr. M. Dorcas Clark. She was a longtime doctor with IRMC, focusing on women’s health and breast cancer research. IRMC President Steve Wolf said that she was an amazing person and groundbreaking as well as she was one of the first to focus on breast cancer, and the first female doctor at IRMC
Clark was with Indiana Regional Medical Center for sixteen years, from 1980 to her retirement in 1996. The Women’s Imaging Center was named in her honor in 2005. The center is the beneficiary of the annual Love of Life campaign. Heather Reed, with the Indiana Healthcare Foundation said Clark would visit the center many times to see what was new with women’s health care.
