An escapee was not at large for long after state police sought the public’s help to find him yesterday.
According to a state police tweet, 22-year-old Patrick Guyer of York was seen by a passerby along Old Route 119 South in Center Township. Troopers took him into custody without incident a short time later, and he was placed in the Indiana County Jail to await preliminary arraignment on a charge of escape.
A patient at Torrance State Hospital, Guyer walked away from the theater at the Indiana Mall on Monday afternoon. He’d been there with a group of other patients on a supervised visit. He was ordered committed to Torrance in September after a stint at the York County Prison. He’d undergone a competency examination after being charged with terroristic threats in 2016. That case is now listed as inactive.
