Don’t blink or you’ll miss it…the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources publishes a weekly fall foliage map, and for this week it says Indiana County, most of our neighbors, and every county west of us are “Starting to fade…(with) still some nice color but (it) won’t last more than a few more days.”
The report says the region’s oak forests are just beginning to change color, but maples are winding down their color displays.
If you want to see leaves at their peak colors, just go to Clearfield County, and from there just keep driving east or south. That portion of the state all the way to the eastern and southern borders will be at its peak this week.
