Two vehicles were involved in a crash at 12:36 on October 31st on Route 119 in Burrell Township. Wendy Presto was driving North on 119 and was making a right turn into her driveway when Stephen Miller was coming up behind her in his car. The car hit the guide rail before hitting Presto’s car. Both vehicles required towing, while Miller was cited for careless driving.
The next day, at 7:16 AM, a crash was reported in Center Township on Route 286. Trooper say 60-year-old Stephanie Ackley of Blairsville was driving south on Route 217 and approaching the intersection with 286 and ran the stop sign. Ackley lost control during a right turn in the road and the vehicle hit an embankment. Ackley was not injured, but her car needed to be towed.
A Kittanning woman could DUI and drug-related charges connected with an incident in Indiana Borough. State Police say on November 1st around 7:45 PM, the woman was spotted by state troopers with an inoperable headlamp. When police pulled her over, she claimed she took a prescribed narcotic prior to driving. She was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance. Drug paraphernalia was also found in her car. Charges against the woman are pending.
