Last night, two candidates running for the 62nd district seat in the State House met for a “candidates night” forum hosted by the League of Women Voters.
Both Logan Dellafiora and Jim Struzzi were in attendance for the candidates night forum at Aging Services Oak Place center in Indiana. The two fielded questions that were submitted by members of the audience. One of those topics was the recent shootings at a synagogue in Squirrel Hill. Logan Dellafiora said that some common sense should be used for legislation, and called for the banning of bump stocks and clips that hold a large number of rounds. Struzzi said that legislation may not be the answer, but equipment for police and scanning social media may be the answer.
Another topic that came up was property taxes, with Struzzi saying he was in favor of PA Senate bill 76, which eliminates school property taxes. Dellafiora said that property taxes need to be addressed, but any changes must benefit the lower and middle class.
Election day is November 6th.
