Indiana Borough Police have filed a Juvenile Allegation with the Indiana County Probation Department, charging a juvenile with making two threats against the Junior High School. In a separate incident, a juvenile has been charged with taking a weapon to school.
The first incident happened on October 11th in the evening hours at the Junior High School. Shortly before 8 o’clock that night, a school staff member found a written threat scratched into school property. As a precaution, activities at the Junior High that night were canceled and the school evacuated as state police bomb-sniffing dogs were brought in to search the building. Nothing was found.
The second threat is dated October 22nd at 8 AM. Again it was discovered by staff members. An investigation by school staff and Borough Police identified the suspect, who is charged with two counts of terroristic threats.
On October 19th, a student brought a pocket knife to school. That student is charged with one count of possession of a weapon on school property.
Police have not said whether or not the same juvenile is involved in both cases.
