Indiana County Coroner Jerry Overman Jr. says an elderly woman died early yesterday morning when she was struck by an a vehicle as she was crossing Route 422 to get her newspaper.
Overman says 80-year-old Doris Jean Peterman of Strongstown died from multiple blunt force trauma. The accident happened at 6:11 AM outside of Peterman’s home in Pine Township, near the Indiana-Cambria county line. The SUV which hit her was driven by a 30-year-old woman from Portage.
